Hyderabad: How conman used training centers as front to cheat youth of ₹47L on pretext of landing overseas jobs

Hyderabad: Madhapur police have arrested a key accused for allegedly duping unemployed graduates of Rs 47 lakh under the pretext of overseas job placements.

Two more accused, including the prime suspect, are still at large in this medical coding training fraud.

Two training centres used as front

According to the police, Dileep Kumar was operating two private training institutes, Mind Spark Innovations Pvt. Ltd. at Kondapur and Prinex HMC at Madhapur. The daily affairs of these centres were managed by Shiva Reddy (manager) and Srikanth Joshi (lecturer).

The accused targeted unemployed graduates by offering medical coding training with guaranteed employment, particularly in overseas healthcare firms.

₹15,000 collected as Course Fee

Around 50 students from Karimnagar, Siddipet, and other districts, along with candidates from neighbouring States, enrolled in the online Certified Professional Coder (CPC) course. Each student paid Rs 15,000 as a training fee. After the training period, the accused issued CPC certificates to the students.

Up to ₹1 L taken in the Name of Exam and Job

The accused later told the students that they must clear an examination conducted by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) to secure employment. In the name of exam registration and job placement, they collected additional sums ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh per candidate.

Exam date fixed, accused vanish

The examination was scheduled for November 30, and hall tickets were promised on November 28. When the students reached Hyderabad for the exam, they found that Srikanth Joshi’s phone was switched off, and Shiva Reddy was also unreachable.

Alarmed students rushed to the training institute and questioned Dileep Kumar, who claimed he did not know about the money collection.

Victims approach Police

As they realised they had been cheated, the victims approached the police. In their complaint, they stated that Rs 17 lakh was directly collected by the two accused, while the total estimated cheating amount is about Rs 47 lakh.

One arrested, hunt for others on

Following the complaint and investigation, the police arrested Shiva Reddy on Friday.

A manhunt has been launched to nab Srikanth Joshi and the prime accused Dileep Kumar, who are currently absconding.

Police officials confirmed that cases have been registered under relevant sections related to cheating and criminal breach of trust, and further investigation is underway.
