Hyderabad: Illegal booze party busted in Moinabad; Cyberabad SOT briefly detains Andhra MLC Duvvada Srinivas

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Special Operations Team (SOT) busted an illegal liquor party at The Pendent in Moinabad.

Andhra Pradesh MLC Duvvada Srinivas and his partner were briefly detained for hosting the unauthorised event at the farmhouse.

MLC, partner questioned and let off

During intensified checks on illegal late-night gatherings along the city’s outskirts, the Rajendranagar SOT team conducted a surprise inspection at the farmhouse.

MLC Duvvada Srinivas and his partner Madhuri were questioned for hosting the event without the required permissions and were later allowed to leave, the police said.

Birthday party held in violation of rules

Investigators found that the couple had organised a birthday celebration where liquor was served, and hookahs were used without mandatory approvals, violating excise and public safety regulations.

Police seized 10 bottles of foreign liquor, along with hookah setups and related material, during the raid.

Nearly 30 guests were at the gathering

Officials said about 30 guests, including a few political associates, were present at the time of the raid. The event is believed to have continued well past permitted hours.

Cases booked against the farmhouse owner, organiser

Moinabad Police registered cases against Subhash, the farmhouse owner, and Parthasarathy, the event organiser, for hosting the party without permission and possessing prohibited items.

Further investigation is underway, with police verifying the guest list and permissions linked to the venue.
