Hyderabad: iPhone user kills job consultancy owner over ₹1,000 refund; held
Police have arrested 19-year accused for stabbing a 36-year-old manpower consultancy owner to death at his office in Yousufguda on Tuesday.

Hyderabad: Imagine a youth owning an iPhone and killing a manpower consultancy owner over a ₹1,000 refund.
This is not a fairytale, but a reality in Hyderabad. Police have arrested 19-year accused for stabbing a 36-year-old manpower consultancy owner to death at his office in Yousufguda on Tuesday.
Police said they received a complaint from Dulipadu Akshaya, aka Sai Shruthi, an HR Executive at Best Group of Services Job Consultancy, Engineers Colony, Hyderabad, on March 10. She said that an unknown male visited their office and demanded a refund regarding a job arranged through the consultancy.
The executive informed the owner, Jaggavarapu Shashi Kiran Reddy, about the man who was waiting in the counselling room
During the discussion, the accused suddenly attacked with a knife. Later, he attacked the executive before fleeing from the spot.
Jaggavarapu Shashi Kiran Reddy, who was lying with multiple stab injuries, was shifted to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. A case was registered in the police station Madhura Nagar under relevant sections of BNS.
Based on technical clues and field intelligence, police apprehended the accused, identified as Pollamari Setty Prabhu Kumar alias Shanu, near Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. Police seized the knife used in the offence, an iPhone 15, and four stolen mobile phones from his possession.
The accused was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody. Police said an investigation is being carried out by Inspector H. Prabhakar under the supervision of ACP Banjara Hills Division, Jubilee Hills Zone, Hyderabad City.
