Hyderabad: Police have busted a fake recruitment scandal and registered a case against a Hyderabad resident for allegedly promising jobs in the railways. D. Chinna Rao, a resident of Mohan Nagar, Kothapet, Hyderabad, was booked after P. Giribabu, a real estate businessman from Vishakapatnam, complained that he was cheated of Rs 46 lakh on the pretext of arranging different jobs in railways

Rao said his business acquaintance identified as Kishore introduced him to D. Chinna Rao who promised to arrange jobs in railways through the backdoor. Giribabu said D. Chinna Rao demanded a sum of Rs nine lakh for a Group-D job and Rs.13 lakh for a Ticket Collector post in the railways.

Giribabu agreed to pay the amount in installments and transferred Rs.eight lakh in August 2019 and Rs six lakh in September 2019 into D. Chinna Rao's account. He also paid Rs.32 lakh in cash on various dates at GVK Mall, Banjarahills, and PVR Next Galleria Mall, Erramanzil.

When Giribabu inquired about the jobs, D. Chinna Rao used dilly-dallying tactics. When Giribabu asked for a refund, D. Chinna Rao did not respond and switched off his phone. The case is currently being investigated by the Panjagutta Police.
