Hyderabad: Man dies by suicide after loan app agents blackmail him with morphed videos
The victim from Brahmahankar Nagar of the Rehmatnagar division, had reportedly borrowed nearly Rs 1 lakh through loan apps.

Hyderabad: A 22-year-old, a supervisor at the Shamshabad Airport, died by suicide and the police said it was due to pressure from online loan app agents.
The victim from Brahmahankar Nagar of the Rehmatnagar division, had reportedly borrowed nearly Rs 1 lakh through loan apps. According to his family members, the organisers of the loan apps relentlessly pressured him for repayment. As if that wasn’t enough, they escalated their harassment by sending him explicit, manipulated videos of himself.
The distressing content of these videos left the victim in a state of depression. Overwhelmed by shame, guilt, and despair, he resorted to the extreme step of consuming poison. Though he was rushed to a nearby hospital, Vijay Kumar could not be saved and was declared dead.
The Borabanda police registered a case under Section 174 on Saturday and are currently conducting an investigation.
