Hyderabad man gets 20-year imprisonment for assaulting a minor
A local court in Hyderabad has sentenced a person 20 years of imprisonment under Pocso Act for sexually assaulting a 4 years old minor girl.

Hyderabad: A local court in Hyderabad has sentenced a person 20 years of imprisonment under Pocso Act for sexually assaulting a 4 years old minor girl.
The crime dates back to 2018 when the victim was staying with her grandmother at Yousufguda. According to the complainant, the girl was sent to a local shop to purchase a shampoo packet. However, the victim did not return for more than 20 minutes.
On enquiring the shopkeeper informed the mother that the accused who is a stranger took the girl to his residence where committed he the crime. The mother and uncle went looking for the girl at the accused residence where they heard the minor crying. After enquiring, the girl stated the person has assaulted her.
After receiving the complaint, the police registered a case against the accused under 354,366 of IPC and section 10 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
After completion of the hearing, On December 9, the court sentenced the accused 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine.
