Hyderabad man gets life imprisonment for sexually assaulting his niece

The crime dates back to 2019 when the victim was staying with her maternal aunt in Dhoolpet as her mother died in childhood.

According to Mangalhat police, in November 2019 when her aunt who was working as a maid left the home, her uncle asked the minor girl to come inside the room. He closed the door and forcibly threw her on the floor and sexually assaulted her. His uncle threatened her not to inform anyone about the incident. The police confirmed that this was not the first time

When her aunt reached out and found her crying, the girl informed her about the incident. Her aunt had a fight with her husband. Due to severe pains, she was not able to walk properly and didn't go to school for a few days.

When she went to school, while returning back to home after school, one Anganwadi teacher asked her the reason why she is not able to walk properly and why she was not coming to school. For which the girl told the teacher about the incident.

Later, the teacher kept the girl with her duly seeking permission of the school and filed a complaint. The police registered a case against the accused Under section 376(a)(b) of IPC and section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act.

After completion of the hearing, on December 16 the sentenced the accused life imprisonment and slapped Rs 10,000 fine.
