Hyderabad: Man rapes classmate on pretext of marriage at Prakashnagar; booked
Begumpet police says that 34-year-old woman from Anantapur district was attending HR training classes and befriended this man from her class

Hyderabad: Police have registered a case after a man allegedly raped his classmate on the pretext of marriage.
According to the Begumpet police station, a 34-year-old woman from Anantapur district was attending HR training classes at an IT training institute in Begumpet.
KV Santosh Chaitanya, who was also undergoing training at the same institute, offered help to find her new rented accommodation after her house developed some problems due to the rain.
Santosh Chaitanya assured her that his mother and sisters would also help her find alternate accommodation. Later, the woman visited Chaitanya's residence in Prakashnagar on June 5 of this year. However, upon arrival, she found that his mother and sister were not present. Chaitanya took her inside the house and sexually assaulted her.
He deceived the victim into believing that they would get married and kept her at his house for five days. After a few days when she inquired about the marriage, Chaitanya reacted angrily and refused to marry her.
The victim approached Begumpet police on July 12. Later, Chaitanya assured the woman in writing that he would marry her the following day in the presence of Begumpet police.
However, he disappeared after making the promise.
Police have registered a case on Saturday and are currently investigating.
