Hyderabad: Masked men storm jewellery shop at Akber Bagh; assault owner, loot 15-gram gold

The suspects targeted the store owner's son, threatening and attacking him before decamping with the jewelry.
According to police, Mohammed Ur Rehman operates a jewellery store near the Government Press in Akber Bagh. On Wednesday afternoon, he asked his son Shaji Ur Rehman to take care of the store while he attended to some errands.
At around 1:30 p.m, three masked people forcibly entered the store, assaulting Shaji Ur Rehman. Subsequently, they escaped with the jewelry as Shaji Ur Rehman lost consciousness. Residents alerted the Chaderghat police, who quickly arrived at the scene with the Dog squad and clues team to begin an investigation.
Y Prakash Reddy, the Station House Officer (SHO) at Chaderghat, stated that the perpetrators, traveling on a motorcycle, had noticed the victim alone in the store with minimal public activity due to the afternoon prayer time, leading to the robbery.
"The CCTV footage revealed the involvement of three men in the robbery. A case has been registered, and special teams have been deployed to apprehend the suspects," said Y Prakash Reddy, emphasizing the police's efforts to swiftly capture the culprits.
