Hyderabad: Mother pushes two children into pond before jumping in at Peddacheruvu
Family dispute led mother to take this extreme step, two bodies recovered, teenager body is missing

Hyderabad: A mother pushed her two children into a pond before jumping herself at Peddacheruvu in Ibrahimpatnam on Thursday night. The third child managed to escape from the scene.
Bodies of mother and boy have been recovered, the body of teenage daughter is missing. A family dispute is believed to have triggered this extreme step.
According to police, Mangamma (38), a resident of Vanasthalipuram, arrived at the pond with her daughter Lavanya (15), and sons Sharath (5) and Ganesh (6) on Thursday evening.
In a shocking sequence of events, Mangamma allegedly pushed Lavanya and Sharath into the pond before jumping herself. However, Ganesh managed to escape.
Motorists passing by noticed the distressed boy and, upon inquiry, learned that his family had jumped into the pond. The police were immediately informed, and a search operation was launched.
After an extensive search, the bodies of Mangamma and Sharath were recovered from the pond, while Lavanya remains missing. Sharath and Ganesh, both students at a school in Vanasthalipuram, were found wearing their school uniforms at the time of the incident.
Police discovered the father Varsu Kumarās contact information in the childrenās schoolbooks. Later they informed him of the incident. Police are investigating the incident. Preliminary reports suggest that family disputes may have driven Mangamma to this extreme act. A search operation is on to locate Lavanya.
