21-year-old B.Tech student was stabbed to death, woman suspected to be at heart of dispute

Hyderabad: A 21-year-old B.Tech student was stabbed to death after an altercation at Ganesh Chowk in Balapur.
According to Maheswaram Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sunitha Reddy, the victim has been identified as Mondru Prashanth, a 21-year-old second-year B.Tech student at MVSR College, Nadargul.
Hailing from Khammam, Prashanth had recently settled in Balapur. The incident occurred when Prashanth was on his way home after examination. He stopped at Hotel 37 near Ganesh Chowk in Balapur where he met three local friends.
A heated argument broke out between Prashanth and the three young men over an old dispute. Amid the altercation, one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed Prashanth three times in the stomach. The assailants fled the scene after the incident
Police arrived at the scene and shifted Prashanthās body to Osmania Hospital for further examination.
Initial investigations have revealed that the accused reside on the same street as Prashanth in Balapur. Police are currently investigating the motive behind the murder. Police suspect a woman might be at the heart of the dispute between the four friends. It was also discovered that Prashanth had not been attending college regularly in recent times.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
