Hyderabad police invoke PD Act against habitual offender Mir Akbar Ali

Hyderabad: On the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, VC Sajjanar, IPS, the Preventive Detention (PD) Act has been invoked against a notorious rowdy sheeter, Mir Akbar Ali (32), for his continuous involvement in grave criminal activities.

History of 25 cases

The accused, a resident of Ganga Nagar Nala, Yakutpura, and a DCM driver by profession, is a habitual offender with a history of 25 criminal cases.

His criminal record includes heinous crimes such as murder, attempt to murder, robbery and violations of the NDPS and Arms Acts.

Notably, this is the third time the PD Act has been invoked against him, having been detained twice previously.

The Rein Bazar Police recently registered the following cases against him:

1. Cr. No. 21/2025: Registered under sections 118(1), 352, 351(2) of BNS.

2. Cr. No. 25/2025: Registered under the NDPS Act.

3. Cr. No. 173/2025: Registered under sections 324(4), 329(4), 351(3) of BNS and Sec 25(1) of the Indian Arms Act.

Following the execution of the PD Act orders, Mir Akbar Ali has been shifted to Chanchalguda Central Prison. The Hyderabad City Police said it remains committed to taking stringent action against elements disrupting public order and safety.
