Hyderabad: Police slap SC/ST Act on 2 BJP activists for abusing Rapido rider, document writer.

Hyderabad: Police have arrested two BJP workers under SC/ST Atrocity Act for abusing a Rapido rider and a document writer in two different incidents.

The accused have been identified as Pakala Shiva and Anil Singh Valmiki.

According to police, a complaint was lodged by Angoth Ramesh Naik, a Rapido bike driver, against Pakala Shiva. The incident occurred on June 8, in Ambedkar Nagar, Khanajiguda.

Ramesh alleged that Pakala Shiva harassed and verbally abused him, based on his caste. Shiva also physically assaulted him and threatened him over a loan repayment.

Another complaint was filed by Kampari Sai Naresh, a document writer, against Anil Singh Valmiki. The incident took place on June 7, at Kamal Documentation Office in Neredmet, Malkajgiri district.

Anil Singh allegedly verbally abused and made derogatory caste-based remarks against Naresh after he declined his request for double registration.

Both cases have been registered under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act and other sections of IPC. Police have initiated investigations into the matter.

Addressing the media, BJYM National Treasurer, PM Sai Prasad claimed that MLA Mynampally Hanumanth Rao is responsible for the atrocities against BJP and BJYM leaders.

He said the alleged illegal arrests of Pakala Shiva and Anil Singh would not deter their commitment to serving the people.

“After Shiva and Anil Singh were booked under SC ST Atrocities Act, police officers were sent to their residences to harass their families. It clearly reveals the MLA's intentions. These actions are aimed at disrupting the upcoming Team SAI Sports Utsav, which is set to commence tomorrow,” he said.

He further added that Anil Singh belongs to the SC community and how can he abuse his own community and be booked under SC/ST Act.
