Hyderabad: Restaurant GM shot dead at Miyapur; massive hunt launched to nab assailant

Hyderabad: A restaurant general manager was killed when an unidentified man fired at him at Miyapur on Wednesday night.

The victim was identified as Devender Gayan (35). He was working as the general manager at Sandarshini Elite Restaurant located in the Madinaguda area.

According to Madhapur DCP Sandeep Rao, an unidentified assailant fired multiple rounds at Devender Gayan. He received critical wounds and was shifted to hospital. However, he succumbed en route to the hospital.

Police said a country-made gun was used in the incident and a total of six rounds were fired.

Miyapur police reached the crime scene and initiated an investigation. A case has been registered, and the police are investigating the motives behind this tragic event.

Hailing from Kolkata, Devender Gayan's connection to the city and the circumstances leading to the attack are among the key aspects under scrutiny.

Sandeep Rao also visited the crime scene to assess the situation.

DCP Rao expressed his commitment to resolving the case. "Our primary leads suggest that long-standing rivalries might have played a role in this unfortunate incident," he remarked.
