Hyderabad: Robbers loot house in Sindhi Colony; decamp with Rs 5 Cr property

Hyderabad: Burglars stormed a house in Sindhi Colony, Secunderabad, and decamped with gold, silver, and other property worth Rs. five crores.

A Nepali watchman employed to guard the premises is the prime suspect in the case.

On July 9, Rahul Goyal, residing on the first floor of OM Towers at PG road, Jawahar Nagar Colony, Secunderabad, left for Greenfield Resorts with his family. They returned on July 10 to find the main door lock broken. Upon entering the house, they discovered that the cupboard and other locks had also been tampered with.

The stolen items include four kilograms of gold ornaments, ten kilograms of silver ornaments, diamonds, and Rs. 49 lakh cash. In the complaint filed with the police, the victim estimated the total value of the stolen property to be around Rs. 4 to 5 crore. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.

However, during their initial inquiries, the police learned that Kamal, the Nepali watchman responsible for guarding the house, and his family members were conspicuously absent during the time of the incident. Based on this information, the victim has voiced suspicions that the watchman and his family may have played a role in the robbery.

“A case has been registered under 457,380 IPC. The investigation has been launched,” said G. Lingeshwar, Rao Ramgopalpet Inspector.
