Hyderabad: A salesman hit a customer with a rod at Podium Mall in Janaki Nagar Colony of Tolichowki.
According to the Film Nagar police, the victim has been identified as Bilal Khan, who was accompanied by his brother Suleman Khan.
The incident occurred when they visited Podium Mall with the intention of purchasing a T-shirt from Vishal Mega Mart. However, what should have been a routine shopping experience quickly escalated into a harrowing ordeal.
While the brothers were browsing the aisles, they witnessed a heated exchange between a salesman and another customer. Appalled by the salesman's use of offensive and vulgar language, Bilal and Suleman intervened, politely requesting the salesman to refrain from such behavior.
Instead of defusing the situation, the salesman turned his aggression toward the Khan brothers. Verbal abuse swiftly transformed into physical violence. The salesman, in a fit of rage, seized a nearby rod and hit Bilal on the head.
The assault took place on Tuesday evening, and witnesses, including both customers and store staff, rushed to the aid of the victim.
Later Bilal Khan lodged a police complaint.
A case has been registered under section 324 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and it is currently under investigation, Filim Nagar Inspector Ramakrishna said.
