Hyderabad: Police have arrested three people including a Gym trainer for selling banned injections and tablets to bodybuilders and athletes at Maithrivanam, Ameerpet.

The accused have been identified as Omprakash, a 40-year-old resident of Akkayapalem in Visakhapatnam who lives in Sanat Nagar and sells protein powder, S. Naresh, a 38-year-old from Amberpet who is also in the protein powder business, and Syed Farooq, a 27-year-old trainer at F-55 Gym in Begambazar. Police said they were selling banned drugs at Muscle House, Shop 107 in Nilgiri Block near Maithrivanam, Ameerpet.

South Zone Task Force raided the premises after receiving credible information from Khairatabad Zone Drug Inspector C. Vivekananda Reddy on Thursday evening. During the search, they recovered several banned drugs including C-jet 250 mg/ml injection, Duradexx 250 mg/ml injection, Stormbear 10 mg tablets, Airclean 40 mcg tablets, and Debolon 10 mg tablets.

These substances are typically used to enhance athletic performance. They have been banned due to the potential health risks associated with their use, such as liver damage, cardiovascular disease, and hormonal imbalances. Police discovered that Om Prakash had purchased the banned substances from a person named Avinash, who is a resident of Vizag.

The accused have been handed over to the Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar Police Station for further investigation. A case has been registered and police are currently investigating the matter.
