Hyderabad: A man suspected of attempted theft died after complaining of chest pain at Adibatla police station.

Mohammad Haji, 45, a coconut vendor, along with his friends Rathlavath Govind and Nenavath Naresh, both residents of Babanagar, traveled to Kurmalguda in an auto at 4 p.m. on Monday.

In Kurmalguda, they were seen near a real estate office, which housed a container owned by Madhu.

Locals reportedly observed Haji, Govind, and Naresh were peeping into the container, raising suspicion since a theft had recently occurred at the same place. Believing that the trio might have been attempting another theft, Madhu informed the police.

Police from the Adibatla police station arrived at the scene and took the three men into custody.

Upon arrival at the police station, Haji informed the staff that he had a heart problem and was experiencing chest pain. Just as they were entering the station premises, Haji reportedly collapsed. The police staff immediately rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors examined him and confirmed that he had passed away.

Haji's family declined to comment on the incident. Adibatla Inspector Raghavendra Reddy stated that Haji was taken to the hospital when he complained of chest pain and that he died while receiving treatment. It was also revealed that Haji had undergone a heart stent procedure less than a month ago. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Haji's death
