Hyderabad: Two interstate drug peddlers arrested, 11 kg of ganja worth Rs 5.50 lakh seized

Hyderabad: In a breakthrough against narcotics trafficking, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East Zone Team, in coordination with the IS Sadan police, apprehended interstate drug peddlers involved in transporting Ganja from Nagpur in Maharashtra to Hyderabad.

The accused have been identified as Syed Firdous (31) and Mohammad Khadar (46). The police seized 11 kg of ganja and other contraband from the accused. The total value is Rs 5.50 lakh.

Case details

Syed Firdous is a resident of Qalender Nagar, Santosh Nagar, Hyderabad, and was working as an auto driver. His stepfather, Mohammed Khadar and stepbrother BJCL are residing at Islam Pura, Echoda Mandal, Adilabad.

Previously, Syed Firdous was involved in criminal cases and was addicted to bad vices to fulfil his lavish expenses. He decided to sell ganja. As such, about one week back on the instructions of Syed Firdous, Mohammed Khadar, along with his son BJCL, went to Nagpur, Maharashtra and purchased 13 kg of ganja at the cost of Rs. 13,000 per kg from Mehraj.

Mohammed Khadar brought nine stolen cell phones to sell the same at Hyderabad and took shelter at Syed Firdous. They handed over the contraband to Syed Firdous for further supply to needy customers. Syed Firdous took the order of 2 kg of contraband from the sub peddler Sajju and 2 kg from Yousuf.

On January 24, Syed Firdous sent BJCL, along with 2 kg of ganja and nine stolen mobiles, to deliver the same to Yousuf at Jalpalli and Syed Firdous, along with Mohammed Khadarcame behind Redaan Hotel to sell the ganja to their customer Sajju, a resident of Madannapet and others. Acting on a tip-off, police apprehended them and seized 11 kg of ganja, two mobile phones and cash of Rs 3,000 from their possession.

The accused were arrested soon after and a case has been registered.
