Hyderabad: Unable to cope with math, B.Tech student ends life

An 18-year-old B.Tech student ended her life at her home in Seethaphalmandi on Monday.

The student was in her first year at Sridatta Engineering College in Ibrahimpatnam.

According to the police, the student was not comfortable with mathematics. Police said that was the reason for her decision to end her life.

The victim's father, a tailor, recounted that his daughter had been feeling down about her upcoming annual semester exam due to her struggle with math.

He added that his daughter had stayed up until 2 a.m. studying before going to bed. The next morning, she was found hanging from the ceiling fan by a saree.

Chilkalguda police have registered a case under section 174 and are currently investigating the incident.
