Hyderabad: A techie working for Infosys died by suicide in Siddipet district on 29 December. The victim, P. Naveen Reddy, hanged himself, the police said.

The police have registered a case and started an investigation. They also found a note purportedly written by Naveen Reddy that said nobody was responsible for his death.

According to sources, Naveen is from Pedda Mansanpally village under Thoguta mandal and is the eldest son. After completing B.Tech, he got a job in Infosys during the campus recruitment process. He had been with the firm for the past two years.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he had moved back home and was working from home. As he was facing network issues at home, he used to work from a room in their field. A few days ago, he informed his parents that he would quit his job. They supported his decision and told him to do what he thought was right.

On Friday, he went to the field along with his father who returned home while Naveen continued his work. When he did not come home at night, they tried calling him but there was no response. When his brother went to look for him he found Naveen dead.

The police have learned that Naveen had submitted his resignation a few days ago but had not informed his family about it. The police suspect that he was upset about it. They are probing the reasons for the suicide.
