Interstate drug peddler caught at Secunderabad station with Rs 15 lakhs ganja

By Newsmeter Network Published on 27 May 2024 12:30 PM GMTHyderabad: On Monday, the Secunderabad railway police and the RPF arrested a person at the railway station who was transporting ganja from Mohana in Odisha to Nanded, Maharashtra. As much as Rs 15 lakhs worth of ganja was seized from the accused.
The accused has been identified as Chand Kumar Nayak (30), a resident of Ludru village, Odisha. The other accused have been identified as Mihir, Chida, and three others who are absconding.
Case details
The police said that the accused were transporting ganja from Mohana to Nanded for selling the same to needy people for a profit. On Monday, the accused persons Chand Kumar Nayak, Chida, and three others took 62 kg of ganja at Mohana and started their journey to Nanded by train via Secunderabad.
However, the GRP and the RPF staff while conducting surprise checks on platform 10 of the Secunderabad railway station found the accused possessing two trolley suitcases and three shoulder bags containing 62 kg of ganja worth approximately Rs 15,50,000. The same was seized from Nayakās possession.
