Joyalukkas theft case: Panjagutta police crack case in 24 hours; accused arrested, 1 kg gold recovered

Hyderabad: Panjagutta Police cracked a high-value servant theft case at the Panjagutta branch of Joyalukkas within 24 hours, arresting a 25-year-old employee and recovering 1 kilogram of stolen gold worth Rs 1.65 crore.
The accused, identified as Karampudi Gopalakrishna (25), a native of Tadepalli in Guntur district, was apprehended following an intensive investigation based on CCTV footage and technical evidence.
Theft reported from showroom
According to police, the case was registered on February 15 at Panjagutta Police Station after a complaint was lodged by Sebastian regarding the theft of 10 gold biscuits (100 grams each), totalling 1 kilogram, from the Joyalukkas showroom located within the station limits.
Treating the offence as a priority, special teams were immediately formed to trace the accused.
CCTV footage, technical clues lead to arrest
Under the supervision of the ACP, Panjagutta, police teams analysed CCTV footage, gathered technical inputs, and followed intelligence leads. Within 24 hours of the complaint, the accused was identified and taken into custody.
The entire stolen gold was recovered from his possession.

- Conducting strict checks of employees and visitors
- Ensuring robust physical security, such as locks and shutters
- Monitoring employee activities closely
