Jubilee Hills police detain guitarist for alleged sexual assault on woman

Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police arrested a musician on charges of attempted sexual assault on a 36-year-old woman. Lalit Sehgal, who works as a guitarist in local pubs, developed a friendship with the woman in 2016 which eventually turned romantic. However, their relationship came to an end in 2021 due to differences between the two.

On Wednesday, Lalit Sehgal visited the woman’s flat in Jubilee Hills to confront her about her close relationship with one of his friends. During the argument, the woman accused Sehgal of attempting to sexually assault her by tearing her clothes and behaving indecently.

The Jubilee Hills police have filed a case against Lalit Sehgal under IPC sections 354, 323, 376 r/w 511, and he was sent to remand on Thursday. The police are currently investigating the case.
