Kadapa: Ex-Andhra Dy CM Amzath Basha’s brother Ahmed Basha arrested from Mumbai airport

Kadapa: Kadapa police have arrested S.B. Ahmed Basha, YSRCP leader and younger brother of former Deputy Chief Minister S.B. Amzath Basha.

A series of cases have been filed against him including land grabbing. He was taken into custody on Sunday when he was to flight to Kuwait from Mumbai airport.

The arrest follows a complaint filed by Kadapa MLA Madhavi Reddy that Ahmed Basha had abused her and other TDP leaders, including TD politburo members, over a property dispute.

He also faces charges of posting derogatory comments on social media against Speaker Ayyana Patrudu and Home Minister Vangalpudi Anitha.

According to the sources, Basha has been staying in Dubai since the NDA government came into power. He visited India during the Eid festival, and was planning to return on Sunday.

As there has been a look out notice against him , the immigration officials at Mumbai airport stopped him and informed Andhra Pradesh Police.

Ahmed Basha is likely to be produced before the Kadapa Court on Monday.
