Kakinada tragedy: 4 killed, 9 injured after minivan rams into parked lorry

Kakinada: Four people were killed and nine others injured when a minivan rammed into a parked lorry on the Mallepally national highway in the Kakinada district in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Preliminary information revealed that 13 people were on board a Tata Magic minivan when it rammed into a lorry that was parked on the side of the highway. While one person died on the spot, three others were declared dead at Rajahmundry Government Hospital. Nine others suffered minor injuries and are undergoing treatment.

The vehicle was on its way to Visakhapatnam from Tadepalligudem when the accident occurred.

Police have registered a case.
