Karimnagar tragedy: 4 killed, 3 injured after car ploughs into hutments

The huts were set up by the blacksmith community on the pavement. They eke out their livelihood by making knives, axes, and other instruments. The car was driven by a 16 -year-old boy. Two other teenagers were on board when the accident took place. The occupants of the car fled the scene.
According to police, a car was en route to Hyderabad when it rammed into temporary huts. The vehicle hit the huts after the driver lost control near Kaman Chowk.
A woman, who was trapped in between a car and an electric pole, died on the spot. Six injured persons were shifted to district headquarters hospital where three breathed their last.
The minor boy reportedly lost control of the car apparently due to early morning fog and pressed the accelerator instead of the brakes ramming the vehicle into a group of women who were busy preparing a small furnace on the pavement.
The deceased were identified as 27-year-old Pawar Lalitha, 30-year-old Sunitha, and 32-year-old Pariyang. A 14-year-old girl of the Kaman area was also among the deceased.
Police later arrested three minor boys and car owner Kachhakayala Rajendra Prasad. A case under Section 304 (ii) (causing death by rash or negligent act) IPC has been registered.
