Karriguttalu encounter: Woman among 3 Maoists killed, huge cache of arms seized
One-SLR, One-INSAS Rifle, one -Single Bore Weapon, Ten -Rocket Launchers, and other Kit articles were also recovered at the site
By Newsmeter Network Published on 19 Jan 2022 3:14 AM GMTMulugu: Three Maoists including a woman were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Karriguttalu forest area along the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border early Tuesday.
In this exchange of fire, a cop also received gunshot wounds, Mulugu Superintendent of Police (SP) Sangram Singh Ganpat Rao Patil said.
Acting on reliable information that a large gathering of CPI Maoist group (Telangana State Committee) was planning to abduct and kill prominent people (Politicians, Sarpanch, and Contractors), a joint operation by Chhattisgarh State Police, CRPF, and Telangana State Police was launched three-days back in the bordering areas of Mulugu ā Bijapur districts of Telangana and Chattisgarh, he said.
"When parties were patrolling Karriguttalu Forest area, they were fired upon. An exchange of fire ensued. Later three dead bodies belonging to Maoist formations were recovered from the site of encounter," the SP said.
One-SLR, One-INSAS Rifle, one -Single Bore Weapon, Ten -Rocket Launchers, and other Kit articles were also recovered at the site, the SP added.
In December 2021, six Maoists including four women were killed in a gunfight with security forces in the Pesalapadu forest area bordering Telangana's Bhadradri Kothagudem in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district.
