Hyderabad: The Keesara police on 24 April arrested three persons and seized 78 kg ganja from them. They were transporting the contraband from Sileru in Andhra Pradesh to Karnataka.

The three have been identified as Shaik Mohammad (31) and Shaik Muneer (38) of Medchal Malkajgiri district and Gattu Sammaiah (49) of Karimnagar. The police seized 39 packets of ganja (78 kg), three mobile phones, and two cars from them. One accused, Iqbal, is absconding.

According to the police, Shaik Mohammad bought ganja from Iqbal, a resident of Sri Sai Nagar Colony in Nagaram village in Medchal district. He had hired Shaik Muneer and Gattu Sammaiah to transport the ganja from the Andhra-Odisha border and to hand over the same to a person at Zahirabad.
