Kollur SI caught taking Rs 20,000 bribe inside police station, arrested

Hyderabad: A Sub-Inspector of Police was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 inside the police station.

The SI identified, as M Ramesh, is stationed at the Kollur Police Station of Cyberabad Commissionerate, Sangareddy.

He had demanded the bribe for deleting the complainant’s name in an FIR, and was caught by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials while he was taking the bribe from the complainant in the ‘Police Station chambers’.

As per official records, the ACB sting operation was initiated after the accused officer demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 and accepted Rs 5,000 from the complainant on December 17, 2025.

The ACB officials have informed the public that in case of demand for a bribe by any public servant, the public is requested to contact the toll-free number of ACB, i.e., 1064.

The QR code of ACB is displayed at all government offices and prominent public places. The name and details of the victim/complainant will be kept secret.
