Kothagudem suicide: 4 others booked for helping TRS MLAs son flee Kothagudem

Hyderabad: In a series of development in the Kothagudem suicide case, two persons, reportedly close aides of TRS MLA's son Vanama Raghavendra Rao, were taken into custody on Friday evening. Meanwhile, a case under Section 212 (harboring of offenders) has been registered against two other individuals.

The Kothagudem assistant superintendent of police, P. Rohit Raj, on Saturday confirmed that two people, Girish and Murali, have been taken into custody while two others, Chava Srinivas and Ramakanth, have been booked for helping Raghavendra flee Kothagudem. Srinivas and Ramakanth are yet to be taken into custody, the ASP said.

A case has been filed against the four for helping Raghavendra flee Kothagudem, he added.

Mr. Raj said Raghavendra is currently being questioned and he will be produced in Kothagudem court later in the day. He also said that while questioning Raghavendra, the police have procured crucial information regarding cases booked against him.

The ASP said an additional 12 cases have been filed against Raghavendra under various sections of the IPC, including Section 305 (abetment of suicide), 306 (attempt to murder), and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty).

Mr. Raj said Raghavendra was arrested at the Dammapet border near Mandalapalli crossroads on Friday night.
