Kukatpally: How police cracked IDL Lake parking bay fire case

Hyderabad: Kukatpally police arrested Bharathi Travels driver for setting buses on fire at IDL Lake parking bay three days ago. He has been identified as Veerababu Pasupuleti.


Three buses of Bharathi Travels were destroyed in a fire incident at a parking bay in IDL Lake of Kukatpally. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kukatpally Division, A. Chandra Shekar said the accused has been working as a driver for the last two months. He said the accused was staying at the garage of Bharati Travels.

On February 12, owner of Bharathi Travels Krishna Reddy, and his nephew Yashwanth Reddy asked the driver to go on duty, but he was reluctant. He wanted to go to his native place in Andhra Pradesh. The owner and his nephew hit the driver. The accused driver later left the spot. "In a rage of anger, the accused hatched a plan to torch the buses.

As per his plan, at around 11 pm, he purchased 2 liters of petrol from a filling station near Balanagar Metro Station. He went to Bharathi Travel Parking and torched the buses before fleeing away. At the time of the incident, the accused had been under the influence of alcohol", said ACP. After analyzing the video footage nearby Bharathi Travels and surrounding areas, police identified the accused. He was hiding at Laxmipuram village, Chandarlapadu Mandal, NTR Krishna district. During questioning, he confessed to the crime.
