Identified as Venkata Rao (65) and Anantalakshmi (60), they had come to Hyderabad to visit their daughter Kumari at Chilukuru. The couple had stayed with her for ten days.

The incident occurred when they were returning home to Sakinetipalli in BR Ambedkar Konaseema district of Andhra Pradesh. They were returning to receive a pension next month.

On Monday evening, they reached Lingampally railway station and attempted to cross the tracks to reach another platform. Unfortunately, a speeding train collided with them, resulting in their death on the spot. The impact was so severe that their bodies were dismembered.
