Visakhapatnam: A love triangle ended in a tragedy after the girl and her boyfriend died by suicide in two separate incidents in Visakhapatnam. Her suspected husband was arrested.
The deceased girl was a 17-year-old Intermediate student. Her boyfriend was identified as 23-year-old Surya Prakash, an engineering student.
According to DCP, Law and Order Zone II, K Anand Reddy, the girl fell in love with Sai Kumar and Surya Prakash (25) at the same time.
Sai Kumar and the girl who had been in a relationship for a year got married secretly in a hotel room six months ago.
Later, she met Surya Prakash three months ago.
"Suspecting the girl to be close to Surya Prakash, Sai Kumar started questioning her. The duo had conflicts regularly," said the police.
Both the men issued an ultimatum to the girl. Disturbed by the consequences, she ended her life on August 10.
During the investigation, police found that Sai Kumar harassed the girl by repeatedly sending her messages.
A complaint was lodged by the girl’s parents against both men.
Fearing arrest, Surya Prakash died by suicide on a railway track near Gopalapatnam, a day after the girl's death.
Police have arrested Sai Kumar and the case has been registered.
