On the intervening night of 12th November 2020, a horrific accident at Cyber towers junction was captured on CCTV camera. An over-speeding Benz car rammed into a royal en-field resulting in the biker's death.

The investigation found that the Benz car is owned by YSRCP MLA YSRCP MLA Katasani Rami Reddy's son Obul Reddy. Cops explained "Accused M Kasi Viswanath along with his friend Soma Koushik Reddy consumed alcohol at Koushik's house and later went to Arunachala car workshop situated at Kondapur to collect the Benz car ( AP 39EH0555). On their return, the duo visited Club Rouge pub and consumed more alcohol and purchased cigarette from lucky restaurant. They smoked cannabis".
Further added, "Accused Kasi Viswanath instigated his co-passenger Koushik Reddy to increase the speed resulting in them jumping the red signal. At the junction the Benz Car rammed into a royal en-field killing rider Goutham Dev Gadai (36) and seriously injuring his wife Swetha Sravani (32)".
A case has been registered under 304 part-II, 337 , 109 of the Indian Penal Code and section 184, 185, 187 of Motor Vehicle Act and section 20 (b) of NDPS.
"Though knowing clearly that driving a car under the influence of alcohol and drugs is highly dangerous, the duo have resorted to reckless driving. This amounts to culpable homicide not amounting to murder" said Vijay Kumar- Deputy Commissioner of Police ā Cyberabad Traffic.
The Cyberabad Traffic police appeals to the public to follow speed limits while driving . Apart from having a valid license, the public shall also have knowledge about other rules under the MV Act. Further it is reiterated that any person driving a vehicle on city roads should not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the officer adds.
