Madhapur cops bust interstate drug operation; 1 peddler, 4 consumers held
Accused would give envelopes with drugs to bus drivers for transport

Hyderabad: On Friday, the sleuths of TGNAB and Madhapur Police apprehended five persons, during a bid to sell and consume the narcotic drug MDMA at Doctors Colony, beside Durgam Cheruvu, 7 MCD STP Plant in Madhapur.
The police seized 12.72 grams of MDMA and other items such as a cell phone with a total worth of Rs 1.53 lakhs. The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGNAB) said that the arrests busted a major Bengaluru-based MDMA drug supply and transport network.
The main accused have been identified as Gosangi Venkata Sai Charan, a native of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh. He is a habitual offender with multiple cases against him in SR Nagar and Chandanagar police stations.
The consumers have been identified as Mallik Lokesh, A Sandeep Reddy, B Rahul and S Subramanyam.

The main accused Venkata Sai Charan completed graduation in Bengaluru and started supplying MDMA to more than 50 customers in Hyderabad, Nellore, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam.
Sai Charan had a strategy to transport drugs to different cities and towns. He would pack small quantities of MDMA in paper boxes and seal them in envelopes. He would hand over the envelopes to bus drivers of private travels going from Bengaluru by giving them Rs 100. People in Hyderabad would then collect the parcels from the driver directly.
The police said that the accused had used Morning Star Travels, Rajeshwari Travels, GVR Travels and Cherry Travels to transport the drugs to Hyderabad.
On Friday, the police managed to catch Sai Charan when he came to Hyderabad to supply MDMA to his regular customers.
Warning to private bus travel operators
The police said that notices are being served to all travel agencies that if they are found accepting parcels without proper vetting and authorisation, the buses will be seized and cases will be booked against the travel companies.
They said dog squads are being deployed to check the buses and the luggage.
