Madhapur: Serilingampally SOT seizes hash oil worth ₹2.5 lakh, one arrested

Hyderabad: In a major crackdown on drug peddling in the city's IT corridor, the Serilingampally Special Operations Team (SOT) on Thursday seized a significant quantity of hash oil in the Madhapur area.

Acting on specific intelligence regarding the sale of narcotics, the police apprehended one individual while four others managed to flee the spot.

Accused caught at Ayyappa Society

The SOT team, which has been maintaining a strict vigil on drug movements in Madhapur, intercepted the accused on the Ayyappa Society 100-feet road. The individual, identified as Dinesh, was allegedly caught red-handed while attempting to sell the contraband to potential customers.

During the search, officers recovered 180 bottles of hash oil, weighing approximately 920 grams. According to the police, the estimated market value of the seized drugs is around ₹2.50 lakh.

Four others on the run

While Dinesh has been taken into custody, the police revealed that four other individuals associated with the drug racket are currently at large. Preliminary investigations suggest that the group was targeting youth and tech professionals in the Madhapur and Gachibowli areas.

The Madhapur police have registered a case under relevant sections of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act and are investigating the case.
