Hyderabad: A Nampally court sentenced a Madhya Pradesh man to 20 years rigorous imprisonment on 15 April for the rape of a minor girl. The accused has been identified as Sukrat Singh Uikey (39) from Mandla district, Madhya Pradesh.

He had come to Hyderabad looking for work and had been working for a transport lorry service. He had rented a room in Hyderabad's Mangalhat. The victim, a 5-year-ols girl, lived with her parents and elder brother in a room beside the accused's.

On 7 October 2020 at about 4 p.m, the girl and her brother were playing outside their room when Sukrat lured the two children inside by promising to give them chocolate. He gave the boy his cell phone and while the kid was watching videos, Sukrat sexually assaulted the girl.
