Maharashtra woman gang-raped; found unconscious at railway station in Palnadu

Palnadu: A woman was allegedly gang-raped at the Garazala Town railway station in the Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh. A crying baby was found beside the unconscious woman.

According to the police, the railway staff took the 28-year-old woman to the government hospital at 6.30 a.m. She was unconscious at the time. She was unable to communicate as she speaks Oriya and Marathi. She used gestures to inform them that she was gang-raped. Based on her statement, she underwent some medical tests. It will take a few days to get the reports, the police said.

The police, meanwhile, visited the spot where the woman was found, an isolated area inside the Garazala gate halt station, and saw blood marks where the victim was said to be lying.

A case has been registered. The police said the woman is not in a position to respond to the questions right now. They have found out that she is from Nanded in Maharashtra. Currently, the police are checking CCTV footage and investigating a few suspects.
