Man arrested for growing ganja in Medchal

Hyderabad: A man was arrested on Thursday for growing cannabis in Dabilpur village of Medchal district. The cannabis plant was growing beside the road.

On receiving credible information, the Medchal SHO and his team rushed to the spot where they found a man plucking leaves from a plant and putting them in a plastic bag. The man was identified as Akula Narsimha (50) from Dabilpur village. He confirmed that the leaves were cannabis leaves and he had planted it without the knowledge of the landowner. He also said he was selling the leaves.

The police were acting after receiving a complaint from a person who had identified the presence of the plant from its smell.

The plant measuring 203cm tall and with around 30 twigs was seized. A case has been registered by the Medchal police.
