Man electrocuted in Bahadurpura by street light pole during heavy thunderstorm

By Newsmeter Network Published on 8 May 2024 11:09 AM GMTHyderabad: A man was electrocuted when he came in contact with a street light pole. The tragic incident unfolded in the Bahadurpura area during the sudden thunderstorms that swept the city on Tuesday night.
The victim, identified as 50-year-old Ahmed Khan, also known as Faqroo, tragically lost his life on the spot due to electrocution.
Ahmed Khan was a resident of Kishan Bagh in Bahadurpura. He was living in a banana storage godown near the Royal Enfield showroom after the demise of his wife. He worked as a daily wage labourer, earning his livelihood and residing on the premises.
The incident occurred around 7 pm when Ahmed Khan was walking near Bahadurpura crossroads during the rain. Onlookers said that he accidentally touched an electric pole beside Arun Motors which resulted in an electric shock, causing him to collapse immediately. Subsequently, the police shifted him to Osmania Hospital for postmortem examination.
The deceased leaves behind four children residing in Moinabad. His eldest son, Fareed Uddin Ali Ahmed, filed a complaint leading to a case registered under section 174 of the Indian Penal Code. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera in a nearby shop. Investigations into the tragic incident are currently underway.
