Man gets 10-year jail term in 2015 attempt to murder case
A local court here sentenced a man to 10 years in prison on Thursday for robbery and an attempt to murder.

On 23 March 2015, the Medipally police received a complaint from Madishetty Srinivas who claimed that Joga Srinivas (20), had stabbed his 80-year-old mother. Three days ago, Joga Srinivas, a former tenant, had visited their house in Boduppal , Ghatkesar, intending to steal her gold chain, the complainant said.
Mr. Madishetty Srinivas said his mother offered Joga a cup of tea. Later, the accused took out a knife and started stabbing her in the stomach and chest. He snatched away her chain mistaking it for a gold chain. When the woman started making a hue and cry, Joga pushed her and fled.
The neighbors heard the woman's cries and rushed to help her. She was found lying in a pool of blood and was admitted to Aditya Hospital in Uppal.
Based on the man's complaint, the Medipally police registered a case. The then IO, E. Ravikiran Reddy, collected evidence, arrested the accused, and remanded him to judicial custody. On completion of the investigation, the IO filed the charge sheet.
During the trail on 26 August 2021, the court convicted Joga Srinivas to undergo 10 years rigorous imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000 against him.
