Hyderabad: A man was killed after a heated argument over a financial dispute took a violent turn at Secunderabad Railway Station.

The incident occurred near the parking ticket counter near Platform No. 10, leading to a violent altercation between two parking token collectors, Muthu Selvan and Chandra Shekar.

According to the Gopalapuram police, the confrontation began when the two men engaged in a verbal argument that quickly escalated. In a fit of rage, Chandra Shekar grabbed a square-shaped rod from the parking ticket booth and repeatedly struck Muthu Selvan on his head. He sustained grievous injuries.

As the situation worsened, Vijay Kumar Yadav, a worker at the luggage counter, intervened. He managed to push Chandra Shekar away and seize the rod. However, Chandra Shekar then picked up a cement brick from a nearby construction site and hurled it at Muthu Selvanā€™s face with the apparent intent to kill.

The commotion attracted the attention of nearby individuals, and a crowd quickly gathered at the scene. Their intervention forced Chandra Shekar to flee the area before he could inflict more harm. The railway station parking lot supervisor shifted Muthu Selvan to Gandhi Hospital for medical care.

Despite the efforts to save him, Muthu Selvan succumbed to his injuries.

Both Singidi Chandra Shekar and Muthu Selvan were employed as parking token collectors at Platform No. 10 of Secunderabad Railway Station. Chandra Shekar is reported to have a criminal history, including involvement in a previous murder case.

A case has been registered against Chandra Shekar under Section 103(1) of the BNS, and an investigation is underway.
