Amaravati: A person posing as the personal assistant (PA) of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy sent a fake message to the managing director of Manipal Hospital in Tadepalli Gudem asking him to donate over Rs. 10 lakhs. The Tadepalli police have filed a complaint.
According to Tadepalli circle inspector Seshagiri Rao, an unknown person sent a message to the associate director of Manipal Hospital, Tadepalli Jakki Reddy Ramanjaneya Reddy, in the name of Jagan's PA. The person asked Mr. Reddy to sponsor two kits to first-class cricketers and said the international kits would have Manipal's logo. He also asked him for Rs. 10,40,000. "When the Manipal hospital official asked the person to meet him, he was reluctant," said the CI.
Based on the official's complaint, the police are trying to track down the unknown person. The police suspect the accused may have cheated others in a similar way.
