Man killed, son injured after speedy car hit two-wheeler on Prakasam Barrage

A father was killed, while his son suffered severe injuries after a speedy car hit a two-wheeler near Gate No 23 of Prakasam Barrage at Thadepalli, Vijayawada on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as 50-year-old Sheikh Abdul Khadir, resident of Panja center in Vijayawada.

According to the Thadepalli police, the father-son were returning home on a two-wheeler after visiting their relative's house in Mangalagiri.

A car allegedly traveling in the wrong direction hit the two-wheeler. While Sheikh Abdul Khadir fell into the Krishna river, his son Sheikh Firoz and the driver survived with severe injuries.

The injured have been immediately shifted to the hospital for medical assistance.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accident happened due to the negligence of the car driver. A case has been registered by the Thadepalli police.
