Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a 37-year-old woman was murdered by her husband in Bowenpally, Hyderabad on Saturday. The victim was working as a maidservant in Kuwait and had recently returned to India. The accused, identified as Satyanarayana, a habitual criminal offender, is currently on the run.

According to Bownepally police station in-charge, Kandula Ravi Kumar, “The victim had been avoiding her husband due to his addiction to alcohol. He was also a rowdy in Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh. In an effort to help him, her brother Kiran arranged a job for Satyanarayana as a watchman at NMDC Patancheru.”

The police added, “On Saturday, Satyanarayana promised to go to work but did not turn up. When the victim found out, she confronted him, warning that she would divorce him if he didn’t mend his ways. This made him furious. He stormed to Kiran’s house with a sword where the victim was there. He attacked and killed her, hurting the sister-in-law who tried to stop him.”

The accused managed to flee from the scene following the attack. Kumar further revealed that Satyanarayana had previous cases of attempted murder against him. The police have registered a case and are currently searching for the accused.
