Man posing as government official held, Rs 3 crore earned through cheating seized

According to the police, the main accused, Avushodapu Sudhakar (36), from Tarpally in Peddpalli district, tried to come off as a government official by printing an ID in which he made himself PA to CM – OSD (personal secretary to the chief minister - on special duty).

Hyderabad: The sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force, North Zone Team along with the police officials of SR Nagar PS apprehended a habitual cheater and white-collar offender for impersonating a government official. He had cheated people to the tune of Rs 3 crore so far. Two of the accused's associates were also arrested.

According to the police, the main accused, Avushodapu Sudhakar (36), from Tarpally in Peddpalli district, tried to come off as a government official by printing an ID in which he made himself PA to CM – OSD (personal secretary to the chief minister - on special duty). He moved around in a car and his two associates - Sangoju Naga Raju and Battala Bheemaiah - worked as his security guards. He even bought a toy pistol claiming that it was issued to him by the government.

By faking a senior position in the government, he cheated around 80 to 100 people in the name of providing double-bedroom houses under TS Govt scheme, government lands, and police jobs. He had also allegedly promised to arrange gold at cheap rates.

After taking money from them in return for said favours, he would move to another place overnight without telling anyone and would not contact them again. The police seized a total of Rs 2,20,30,000 from him, another Rs 1,00,30,000 in cash, and property documents worth Rs 1,03,00,000. Other materials such as a toy pistol, fake IDs and a car were also seized. The police registered a case.
