Hyderabad: A man and a woman, both aged 25, were found brutally murdered in Puppalaguda area under Narsingi police station limits here, the police said.

Some local youngsters, who had gone on a hillock in the area on Tuesday morning noticed the bodies near an abandoned stone crusher and informed the police via 'Dial-100', who reached the spot.

The man's body bore stab injuries and his face and head were smashed with a boulder, police said, adding that the woman's body with a head injury was recovered at a distance of about 60 meters from the man's body.

The deceased woman was found partially undressed.

During the course of the investigation, police identified that the deceased man belonged to Madhya Pradesh, while the woman was a native of Chhattisgarh and that they were suspected to have been killed on January 11 night by some persons known to them, who seemed to be migrant workers, a police official said.

"Both of them were known to each other. On January 8, the deceased man, who worked as a housekeeper, had brought her from LB Nagar to Nanakramguda here and kept her in a friend's room," a release from Cyberabad Police Commissionerate said.

Police, based on preliminary investigation, suspected that the murders might have happened over an illicit relationship. However, a detailed probe is underway.

Police said they were investigating the incident from all angles. A murder case was registered and the bodies were shifted to a state-run hospital for autopsy. Further probe is on.
