Telangana: A 27-year-old man was brutally murdered for harassing a former girlfriend.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at Indaramin in the Mancherial district. Mahesh was attacked and killed with knives and stones while onlookers watched helplessly.

According to the Jaipur police, Mahesh, a dumper operator at the local Opencast project in Indaram village, Nazirpally, had fallen in love with a girl whom he had met during their school days.

Despite being secretly in love with her for four years, their parents did not agree to their marriage due to caste differences. However, their video calls were leaked after the girl’s marriage on May 25 last year.

Mahesh asked the girl to leave her husband, but she refused. Later Mahesh posted their video calls and photos on social media, which led to her husband divorcing her and died by suicide.

The girl’s parents filed a complaint against Mahesh for harassing their daughter at the Jaipur police station. Mahesh also filed a counter-complaint against them for allegedly trying to kill him.

On Tuesday morning, Mahesh was attacked with a knife in front of a girl’s family. Mahesh was intercepted when he was going towards the bus stand on his bike.

The incident was witnessed by many. Instead of helping, people were busy taking videos. Mahesh was bleeding profusely, and despite his calls for help, no one came forward.

Mahesh's family attacked the house of the accused leading to tension in Indaram. ACP Narender assured the locals that they would not leave the accused, and gave a copy of FIR to the victims.

A case has been registered after Mahesh's mother gave a written complaint.
