MDMA supply chain from Bengaluru busted in Hyderabad; eight arrested in Suraram

Hyderabad: The Suraram police arrested eight persons, including drug peddlers and consumers, and seized MDMA, ganja, two cars and other material during a late-night raid on December 26.

One key supplier based in Bengaluru is absconding.

Drugs and property worth Rs 12.2 lakh seized

Police seized 45 grams of brown MDMA, six grams of white crystal MDMA and 13 grams of dry ganja, together valued at approximately Rs 12.20 lakh. Two cars, eight mobile phones and a digital weighing machine were also confiscated.

Peddlers and consumers among accused

Of the eight arrested, four are alleged drug peddlers, and four are consumers. The prime supplier, Ashwin, a resident of Bengaluru, Karnataka, is currently absconding.

The arrested peddlers include Akram Ranjeeth Kumar of Bowenpally, Kukatla Nitesh Kumar Yadav alias Nash, and Vuppari Naveen Kumar alias Tillu of Suraram.

Private job to drug trade

Police said Akram Ranjeeth Kumar, employed with a private company in Begumpet, allegedly entered the drug trade to supplement his income. Through acquaintances, he met Ashwin, who supplied MDMA and ganja from Bengaluru.

Money transfer and drug procurement

The accused pooled Rs 48,000 and transferred the amount online to the supplier. Kukatla Nitesh Kumar Yadav subsequently travelled to Bengaluru, collected the contraband and brought it to his residence in Bowenpally.

Drugs were transported in two vehicles

On December 26 morning, the accused transported the drugs in two vehicles — a Hyundai Venue and an MG Hector — both owned by Vuppari Naveen Kumar. The contraband was shifted from Bowenpally to Suraram for distribution.

Raid at Gayatri Residency

The accused gathered at Gayatri Residency in Suraram on the evening of December 26 to supply the drugs to consumers.

Acting on specific information, the Suraram police, along with the Clues Team and mediators, conducted a raid at around 9 pm and detained all the accused on the spot.
